BUTLER -- Henry Butler, age 80 years, 11 months, and 19 days
passed away Saturday evening, December 19, 1914, at 6:30 o'clock
p.m. at his home in Black Oak Township, after 10 months of
declining health. Funeral services Tuesday morning, December 22,
1914, at 10:30 o'clock at the late home. Interment at Butler
Cemetery.
Henry Butler was born January 16, 1884, in Germany, and has lived
in Iowa and Mahaska County for a period of 63 years. His father,
Peter S. Butler, and his mother, whose maiden name was Barbara
Burkholder, were born in Germany. Deceased is survived by one
son, Joe Butler, residing north of
Oskaloosa; three daughters, Barbara, Elizabeth, and Lany at home
and three sisters, Mrs. Christina Bailey of California, Mrs.
Magdelina Hirstin of Illinois, and Mrs. Elizabeth Hower of
Creston, Iowa. His wife preceded him in death 11 years this
coming March.
