W. S. COOPER, Winterset attorney was nominated as a canditate for districe judge at the Republican Judicial Convention held at Earlham.

Winterset's salaried semi-pro baseball club beat the fast Osceola team on Sunday, 6 to 4. The famous battery of TYREE and CASEY worked the game for Osceola, but TYREE was hit hard, especially by BREEN, SEVEREID and GRIMES of Winterset. "Jap" CROW pitched for Winterset. "Hod" ELLIS former major leaguer, was mananging and playing first base for Winterset.

In an article regarding amateur radio operators in this community, the following names were mentioned as having built their own sets and had them in operating order were: Ralph CROUSE; Lloyd CONWAY; Gene KALE; Joe GRAHAM; K. E. KELLEY; Phil KONKLE, Charles LANDERS; Reginald LEWIS; Glen LEECH; Harold MCCOLLUM, Paul SCHOENENBERGER; Bob STARK, Lothrop SMITH and Myles and Blair YOUNG.
