Samuel RALLSTIN, one of the old settlers of this community, passed away at this home one mile south of Winterset on Tuesday of last week. His last illness was brief, though his health had been failing him for some time. His funeral was held on Thursday and burial was made in the Winterset Cemetery.

Isaac PAULLIN, who was one of the old time residents of this county, passed away on last Sunday afternoon at his home in Stuart. Mr. PAULLIN had made his home in Stuart since he moved from this county a good many years ago. His brother, W. H. PAULLIN, was called to Stuart last week.

S. D. STANFIELD died at his home in Alberta, Canada, at the age of sixty-two years and five days. He lived for many years around the Winterset area and was respected by all who knew him. He leaves besides his wife, four children: C. A..; J. V. and Jennie M. BATES, of Canada and W. M., of Creston, Iowa.

James ROGAN died at his home in Douglas Township yesterday. He had lived in the Stringtown neighborhood, eight miles northwest of Winterset, for about fifty-three years and was among the early settlers of that township. He was born in Scotland on October 5, 1840. He leaves a wife (Julia WELCH), several children, )Charles, Mary Alice, William Waldron, James, Jessie & Elizabeth), one brother, who lives in Arkansas, two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth VAUGHN and Mrs. Charles (Ellen) ALLGEYER, both of whom reside in Winterset. Funeral services will be held tomorrow and burial will be at the Stringtown Cemetery, near the old ROGAN homestead.
