A car driven by Frank HAMILTON overturned on the Bluffs road on Friday. Several persons were injured.
The stockholders of the Madison county Chautauqua association voted to build a new Chautauqua pavillion in Winterset.
Peters and Son are moving their farm implement stock into their new building on East Jefferson street. This is the first three story building in Winterset.
The first train to enter the town of Macksburg pulled in from Creston at 4:30 p.m. on December 31, 1912. At this time it is completed only into the corporate limits of the town, not into the actual town itself.
A group of transcontinental hiway boosters were in Winterset recently in the interests of the Iowa Short Line route.

Miss Addie R. NORRIS and Leonard MOORE were married at the Methodist parsonage in Lorimor on January 21st. They are making their home on a farm west of Winterset.
Victor Neal POLAND, three month old son of James E. and Margaret M. (GIBBONS) POLAND died on January 20th and was laid to rest at the Winterset Cemetery.
A marriage license has been issued to Mike E. PRAY and Lizzie SHEA.
At the annual meeting of the Farmer's Institute held in the court house this week, the cash prizes offered by the Citizen's National Bank to the winners of the Boys' Acre corn growning contest were awarded to Virgil FENIMORE, Dave GRIFFITH, Ray AIKIN, Glen GRISWOLD, Alvin MEYER, Earl MEYER, Earl GRAVES, Bradley PATTERSON, Alvin TAYLOR and Alvin GENTRY.
The following couple are to be married today, January 22nd: Chester R. LEACH and Ella J. VALEK , both of Winterset.

Winterset high's basketball boys lost to Nevada high, 53 - 12 in their recent game.
The ARMSTRONG Brothers sold their White Front grocery her to Oscar LUCAS.
John MCLEES of Lincoln Township died of a heart attack.
Victor BANKER, a native of Truro who was employed as a conductor on the Rock Island railroad was killed last Thursday. He was crushed between two cars of the train on which he was working, on the Des Moines - Chariton branch.
Mrs. D. D. CAMERON of the Holliwell community was critically burned when her clothing caught fire as she was starting the kitchen stove.
Almyra JACKSON died on January 22nd and burial took place at the Winterset Cemetery.
