Winterset men attending the National Republican Presidential Convention in Chicago were:
J. P. STEELE; H. N. SHAW; Ed M. SMITH; J. J. GASTON; Clyde KRABIEL; Dr. C. S. LEECH; F. L. DRENNAN; J. G. SHRIVER and Fred MARDIS.

Robbers blew the safe at the Macksburg postoffice on Wednesday night last obtaining about $ 100.00.

Will DONAHUE, formerly of Winterset, was killed in the Rock Island railroad yard in Des Moines when he was run over by an engine on which he had been working.

The preceding Thursday, a cloudburst did much damage in the south pat of the county. Lightening struck a barn on the Sam BROWN farm along Middle River killing 16 hogs.
