St. Charles: Born to C. E. DOWNS and wife, a boy, on December 31st.
Sheriff DOCKSTEADER went to Clarinda on Tuesday with Jackson KLECKNER, of St. Charles, who has been adjudged insane.
Truro: J. FOREMAN, son of Jake FOREMAN and wife, died very suddenly last Saturday morning at his home 2 miles southeast of town. The deceased was about 26 years of age and had always made his home with his parents. The funeral was preached at the home on Sunday by D. A. WHITE and burial took place at the Field's cemetery. (Clarke Co. Iowa)
H. D. SMITH returned Tuesday from Monmouth, Illinois, where he was called by the death of his father.
St. Charles: James YOUNG and wife are entertaining a new daughter at their home.
At. 5 o'clock Wednesday morning the Harry DOAK farm house at Tileville was burned to the ground. Mr. DOAK expects to rebuild.
Mrs. Amariah CUMMINS, a long time resident and on of the oldest persons in this part of the county, passed away on Saturday, January 5th, at the age of 84 years. Funeral services were held at the Christian Union church on Monday, and burial was at the Clark cemetery. The deceased was mother of 9 children, 4 of whom are living.
Mrs. J. W. COLE of Warren County, died on January 7th and was buried there.
Hal COLE, a former resident of Webster township, was arrested near Des Moines on the charge of obtaining money under false pretenses. He gave a check on the Boonville Savings Bank and he had no account there.
On Christmas day, December 25th, at 6 o'clock p.m., at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. & Mrs. George COX, of Hiattville, Kansas, occurred the marriage of their daughter, Miss Viola, to Jed OSBORNE, of East Peru.
Patterson: Mr. & Mrs. Lull are rejoicing over the arrival of a new baby boy.
Ord: Mr. Harry SAGE and Miss Susie RHODES were united in marriage on New Years day at the home of the bride, with Rev. DORRELL officiating.
Mr. & Mrs. Charles PACE are the proud parents of a baby girl.
