Married last Wednesday evening at the home of Luther FOX, were L. W. LYNCH and Leona G. HESSLINGER. They will make their residence in St. Charles.
The little two year old son of Mr. & Mrs. Frank YOUNG was buried last Tuesday at the Blair Chapel Cemetery.
William BISHOP, who was reported dangerously ill last week, died at this home in the southern part of the city on Friday. He was nearly 80 years old and had been in feeble health for several years. He came to Winterset soon after the close of the Civil War and worked for years in the old saw mill in the north part of town. He leaves several sons and daughters. (burial was at the

Mrs. Jane STITH was born near Edmonton, Adair County, Kentucky, on January 31, 1823. She was married to John STITH on June 1, 1853. She was the mother of 7 children, one son and six daughters: Mrs. L..L. CRAWFORD and Mrs. Joseph RAY, of Patterson; several grandchildren; one brother and 2 sisters are left to mourn her loss. She went from Kentucky to Illinois in 1853, and 12 years
later, came to Madison County. During her last sickness she was at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Benny BOYD, where all was done for her that loving hands could do. She died on August 5th, aged 82 years.
George YATES, the Union Township farmer, was fined by Mayor WILSON on several charges Monday. He paid $2.00 for caring concealed weapons, $25.00 for discharging firearms in the city limits, $5.00 for disturbing the peace and $5.00 for being drunk.
Married at the Parsonage of the Christian Church on Monday afternoon were Mr. Fred KINNAIRD, of St. Charles and Miss Hazel E. ARNOLD, of Norwalk.
Mrs. J. N. JACOBS, died at her home in Malvern, Iowa, on Friday, July 28th,
and her remains were brought to this city, on Saturday evening. The funeral
occurred on Sunday, July 30th, from the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. H. FUNK, conducted by Rev. MATHENY. Mrs. JACOBS was well known here, having lived her for a number of years. Mary A. McCogan, was born in Richland
County, Ohio, November 14, 1822. After the death of her father, she removed with the family to Allen County, Indiana and there entered the public schools to commence her education. At the age of 18, she entered Oberlin College and finished her education. She was married to J. N. JACOBS in 1853 and moved to Huntington, Indiana. She came to Madison County, Iowa, in 1867, where she
lived until 1892, when she, with her son Newton, settled in Malvern, Iowa, where she has since made her home. To this union were born 5 children. Two, the oldest and youngest, have preceded her to the better world. The remaining three, Mrs. Angie FISHBACK and Newton JACOBS, of Malvern and Mrs. J. H. FUNK, of this city, are left to mourn.
