Col. & Mrs. CUMMINGS issued invitations this week to the wedding of
Miss Maud Ann CORNMAN and Mr. Otto Fillmore TOWNSEND, of Spirit Lake. The
wedding will take place on Wednesday evening at 8 o'clock, May 21st.
Obituary: Grandmother MCKIBBAN was born in Clinton County, Ohio on
April 29, 1820 and died at the Residence of Abner BLACK, in Lincoln
Township on May 3, 1902. Mary RADCLIFFE was married to Joseph MCKIBBAN
in Ohio on January 10, 1839 and was the mother of 11 children, 6 of
them yet living. Funeral services were held at the MACUMBER church on
Sunday afternoon and the remains were buried at the Clark Cemetery.
St. Charles: Captain E. D. BRYANT of Indianola, was in this city and
in Winterset a few days recently, assisting his daughter in securing a
divorce from her late husband, T. G. DAVIS, who is now located in North
Dakota.
Married at the Christian Parsonage on Thursday morning by the Rev. L.
E. FOLLANSBEE, was Mr. George ADKINS and Miss Effie M. ARMBREST.
Obituary: Elizabeth DARNALL was born in Connersville, Indiana and died
in Des Moines on May 4, 1902, aged 61 years. She was married at
Winterset in 1861 to Caleb DARNALL, who survives her. The living
children are Mrs. Emma MCNELEY, Mrs. Nora DEBORD and Alva DARNALL, of
Winterset and Harvey and Ora DARNALL, of Des Moines. Her remains were
brought to Winterset on Monday evening and the funeral services were
held at the residence of John MCNELEY on Tuesday. The remains were
buried at the Hooten Cemetery.
McPherson: Born to Mr. & Mrs. M. O. BRADY on Monday, May 5th, a 12
pound girl.
Obituary: Mrs. Josiah BANKS was born in Park County, Indiana on May
15, 1840. Elizabeth CRAWFORD, when but 15 years of age came to Madison
County and on New Years Day, 1860, was married to Josiah BANKS. She
died on April 30, 1902. She was the mother of 9 children, all of whom
are living, as far as is known, with 8 of them being present at the
funeral services. The funeral was held on Friday, morning and the
remains take to the Baptist Cemetery in Union Township for burial.
Deputy Clerk, J. A. WAY and wife are receiving congratulations over the
arrival of a baby boy, born on Sunday the 4th.
Obituary: Mrs. John REHARD was born in Jefferson County, Ohio on
October 26, 1833. Mary Ann Rogers, as she was known before her
marriage, moved with her parents to Guernsey County, Ohio when about
one year old. She was united in marriage with John REHARD on October 18,
1855. She died on May 1, 1902, aged 68 years, 6 months and 5 days.
She leaves a husband, 2 children, 2 step children, and several brothers and
sisters. (burial was at the Hooten Cemetery)
Married in Winterset on the 3rd day of May by George KOON, J. P., were
Ray R. MARVIN and Miss Nora CLOPTON, both of Winterset.
Obituary: Samuel RICHMOND died at his home in Webster Township on May
2, 1902, at the age of 35 years. He leaves a wife and 3 children,
besides a large number of relatives. The funeral services were held on
Saturday afternoon, May 3rd at the Pleasant View Church, with burial
at the Pleasant View Cemetery.
