Born to Mr. & Mrs.WALTERS in the southwest part of town, on Wednesday, the 15th, triplets, weighing 2, 3, and 3 1/2 pounds respectively. One of them died and the others are doing well. We hear that this increases their number of children to twelve.
Married in Winterset, March 22nd, by George KOON, J.P., was Charles BARKER and Clara BRAY.
Mr. & Mrs. John LEWIS, of Kasson, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on March 15th.
St. Charles: James HOLMES, who was sent from Clarke County to the insane asylum at Clarinda about six months ago, is at the home of his mother-in-law, Mrs. CARTER, of this city. His family has been here all winter. He appears to be fully recovered.
A. S. GRAY, an old resident of Madison County and Winterset, died last Wednesday night. He was quite advanced in years and had almost entirely lost his sense of hearing.

Obituary: Thomas W. TILTON was born in Nobel County, Ohio, August 21, 1843 and died in Madison County, Iowa, March 17, 1899, aged 55 years, 6 months and 26 days. He enlisted in the service of his country on May 2, 1864, in Co. C, 161st Regiment of the Ohio National Guards, for 100 days, receiving his discharge on September 10 1864 and returned home, broken in health. In 1868 he came to Warren County, Iowa and taught several terms of school there. He was married to Phoebe Ellen MCCLAIN on March 1, 1871, in Warren County, Iowa. Ten children were born to this union, all of whom survive him. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery, Winterset, Iowa.
Douglas LITTON, who has been greatly afflicted with epilepsy for a long time, has been much worse lately, and the fits following each other rapidly.
Lee Township: William JOHNSON and wife report a new boy at the Badger Grove Farm. There is also a girl at William King's.
Rev. & Mrs. A. JACOBS have issued invitations for the marriage of Miss Carrie OLSON to John S. KOON on April 6th, at 6 o'clock.
James YOUNG, whose suffering from a sore hand has been noted in these items heretofore, continues to grow worse and it is now reported that the affected part shows signs of cancer. It is feared that he may loose his entire left hand.
Truro: Married at the residence of the bride's parents, on Wednesday, March 15th, Mrs. O.(Oliver) N. ARCHER and Miss Maud, the eldest daughter of Mr. & Mrs. P. (Princton) W. SCOTT, with Rev. FARLEY officiating.
Eli ARNOLD, of Ohio Township, is a sufferer from a peculiarly sore finger. Something which has assumed the appearance of cancer has been affecting the middle joint of the 1st finger of his right hand. Dr. ROBERTS has concluded to amputation during the coming week.
St. Charles: In this city reside not less than 7 persons who are now more that 80 years of age. They are known as Uncle Nick SHAVER; Uncle Tom YOUNG; Mr. James MILLNER; Mr. Charles PERRIN; Grandpa H. A. MCLAUGHLIN; Grandma Mary MCCANDLASS and Aunt Sarah MUSTAR. Mr. PERRIN and Mr. MILLNER alone have living companions, as each are enjoying the society of a second wife.

Fon LEACH and John LOCK who had a fistic set-to on the east side yesterday, were arrested and charged with assault and battery. LEACH pleaded guilty and was fined $5.00 and costs. LOCK'S case was to be continued.

Obituary: Frank Lee BALDOCK, son of Doctor BALDOCK and wife of Winterset, died at the residence of his parents on the morning of the 23 inst., of consumption, thus ending a wearisome illness at the age of 21 years, 8 months and 16 days. His faith in God was strong and the day before he died he was very happy in anticipation of his new home in heaven with his four sisters and two brothers. (burial was at the Winterset Cemetery)

The second child of the triplets born to Mr. & Mrs. Mat WALTERS has died and was buried yesterday.
J. G. DEGRAFF, who has been an invalid for so long, and whose faithful companion had cared for him so many years, died a few weeks since, was released from his suffering last night at 10 o'clock. His funeral took place at 4 pm today. His age was 72 years. (burial was at the Winterset Cemetery)
Specimens of recent advertising hits: "No person ever having tried one of these air-tight coffins of ours, will ever use any other." Dentists can use the following: "Teeth extracted with great pains."
East Peru: There are new babies, a daughter at Henry HOOVER'S, a son at Joe CLIFTON'S and an 11 pound boy at E. HARRELL'S.
Mrs. Robert WILLIAMSON died at 1 o'clock this morning. Her health had been better than usual up to 7 o'clock last night, when she was seized with a pain in her head and went into spasms.
Macksburg: Calvin C. SCHULTZ and Miss Bertha MEANS were married on Sunday, the 26th, at the bride's parents home near Kasson.
Macksburg: R. J. GILBERT and Etta HART were married last week.
St. Charles: L. C. (Clark) MINARD, of this city, returned home on Saturday from Shakley, Nebraska, where he was called a week ago on account of the death and burial of his maternal grandmother, whose home was at that place.
Madison Township: George HUFFMAN, of Des Moines and Miss Nettie MCBRIDE, were married at the home of the bride's parents, Mrs. & Mrs. C.(Charles) H. MCBRIDE, on Wednesday of last week. (married 3-22-1899)
