Mr. Frank E. WIGHT and Miss Blanche V. DONALDSON were united in marriage last Wednesday evening, October 26th, at the home of the bride's mother (Sarah (HUFFMAN) DONALDSON), in Webster Township.

The case of the State of Iowa vs. "Wes" BANKS for assault & battery resulted in a fine of $7.50.

Macksburg: Died on October 25th, Joseph ARMSTRONG, brother of William ARMSTRONG of this place. After a short illness, he passed away on Tuesday evening. On Wednesday afternoon a short funeral service was conducted at the residence of William ARMSTRONG, where he had resided for several years. The remains were taken to Indianola for interment where his wife was already buried.

Barney: Henry BISHOP and wife are rejoicing over a new baby boy, it being the first boy in the family.

Died with cancer on Sunday, October 16th, Miss Melissa M. BERRY, at her home, 3 miles west of Barney. She had been in poor health for a number of years. Dr. COOPER, of Des Moines, and Dr. CHAPMAN, of Lorimor, performed the operation, and she died almost immediately afterward. The remains were buried on Monday. (burial was at the Hamblin Cemetery)

Webster Township: Netta WELTY died at the home of her parents, Mr. & Mrs. E. M. WELTY, on Friday night, October 28th, at 17 years. She was buried at the WELTY grave yard on Sunday, October 10th.

Ronald BAIN died suddenly last Sunday morning at 10 a.m. He was buried on Monday at 2 p.m. by the Odd Fellows. He was well advanced in age, and was a very early settler, having come to the county in 1845.

A son (Rollie) of Sam SIMPSON, in the south part of town, died Monday night, and was buried today. He was one of a pair of twin boys who were 8 years old. (burial was at the Winterset Cemetery)

The wife of Frank BROWNELL, of Lincoln Township, is quite low with consumption and is not expected to recover.
