Marriage: At the residence of J. R. DAVIS, west of town on Tuesday afternoon, Mrs. Mary E. Davis of Danvers, Illinois, to J. A. Webb. Mrs. Davis had been visiting in this vicinity for some time.
Henry KENSLER was born in this county on April 13, 1858, and died on June 12th, having lived for 40 years, 1 month and 29 days. He spent his boyhood days in Madison County and was married to Clydonia WIGHT of Adair County on September 21, 1882. He leaves his wife, two daughters (Georgia Ann & Blanche) and an aged mother (Laura (FLEMING) KENSLER). The funeral services ware conducted by J. M. LOWE on June 14th at the residence, with burial at the Winterset Cemetery.

The Christian Church at Truro was struck by lightening and burned at 4 o'clock this morning. Nothing was saved by 7 seats and a few upholstered chairs.

On Sunday night at about 10:30 occurred the death of Robert VANCE of Dexter, after a long illness. Mr. VANCE was well known here, having been married three years ago to Beulah DANFORTH, the daughter of Chal DANFORTH, of this city. Mrs. DANFORTH drove over Monday, taking the little son of Mr. & Mrs. VANCE, who has been with his grandparents while Mrs. VANCE was in Dexter. The funeral took place on Tuesday at 2 o'clock.
The wedding of Walter STARK and Mrs. Florence (BELLOWS) SPRINKLE occurred on Sunday evening at 6 o'clock at the residence of W. H. BELLOWS, by Rev. REIHELDAFFER.
Barney: Last week occurred the marriage of Elias SIMPSON, of this place to Miss Hannah JOHNSON of Clarke County.
