Worthington: Mrs. FRITZ died at her home on Thursday night, June 25th, at 12 o'clock,after a brief illness. She leaves 6 sons and 2 daughters to mourn her loss. The familyhas the sympathy of the entire community. (Sarah A. - w/o Ludwig - burial, WorthingtonCemetery)
Hebron: Born to Mr. & Mrs. Grant WELKER, a nice pair of twins, a girl weighing4 pounds and a boy weighing 5 pounds.
Mr. & Mrs. Charles BISH were made happy by the arrival of a 9 1/2 pound boy.
Mr. & Mrs. George JESSUP have a new corn plower at their home, weighing in at9 pounds and born on June 21st.

Earlham: Monday morning while the section men were at work about a mile east of town,they found the dead body of a man lying near the railroad fence. Coroner HASKETTimmediately had the body brought to town and a thorough investigation instituted.The body proved to be that of a man perhaps 45 years of age, a German by birth, he,having transport papers on his person, the name of Abraham CHURCHER and dated inAugust of 1893, together with $3.80 in money. Death is supposed to have resultedfrom a concussion of the brain after being struck by a train. The body was buriedin the Earlham Cemetery at 7o'clock on Monday evening.
Born on July 5th to Mr. & Mrs. Fred RATLIFF, a daughter.
Married: James STEVENSON of Lee Township, and Miss Keith Jones of Union Township,at high noon on Sunday last, at the parsonage of the Baptist Church with Rev. A.JACOBS officiating.
T. J. HUDSON left the first of the week for Bedford, Indiana, where he was calledby the sad news that his brother would not live. His sister, Mrs. Duff, of this place,has been with him for two weeks. His illness began with a sunstroke which he receivedsome time ago.
James BAIRD, of Jackson Township, had a serious accident yesterday, from which graveconsequences are feared. He was driving a load of hay, when in endeavoring to getout of the way of some branches that swept across the top of the load, he slippedand tumbled off. In falling, he struck a post and broke his hip, close to the jointand also crushed several of his ribs. Mr. BAIRD is a man well along in years andhis condition, at last report, was considered very serious.
Macksburg: Died on Monday last, the infant child of Peter BUSCH.
Samuel I. SPRINKLE, the son of Mr. & Mrs. B. L. SPRINKLE, of this place, diedat Des Moines shortly before noon last Wednesday. He was the victim of quick consumption.Sam was born and grew up in Winterset. The remains were brought to Winterset on Thursdayevening. The funeral was held this afternoon from the Methodist Church, after whichthe Masons took charge of the body and interred it with the burial service of theorder. Besides his parents and a large family of sisters and brothers, he leavesa wife, formerly Miss Olive Bellows, and one child.

Married at the M. E. Parsonage in Winterset, on July 15th, by the Rev. Fred HARRIS,was Mr. S. J. MCKEE, of Stuart and Miss Mamie BALES of Dexter.
Miss Cora (May) MILLER, daughter of Brice MILLER, who has been sick since last winter,passed away in death at 7 o'clock on Thursday evening last. The funeral will beheld on Sunday at the family residence in the northeast part of the city. (burialwas at the Winterset Cemetery)
Hebron: Mr. & Mrs. Charles HANNON were made happy on July 6th, by the arrivalof a baby boy, weighing in at 9 1/2 pounds.
Robert NIBLO, Jr., of Jackson Township, had the end of a finger cut off this lastweek by the sickle of a binder.
Miss Mattie MARTIN, formerly KELSO, died last week at Tyler, Texas. She was a sisterof W. D. KELSO of this place.

Peru: Frank CREGER and wife are rejoicing over the arrival of twins, a boy and agirl, at their home.
