Bennett MITCHELL, prohibation candidate for governor, made a speech at the court house on Tuesday evening, with a good sized crowd gathering for the speaker, but they soon melted away.

On Thursday afternoon, Mary Ellen LEASE, the Kansas populist orator, made a speech at the Monument park.

Rezin KAIL, of Penn township, who has long been an invalid, died last Friday and was buried on Saturday, the 14th inst. Services were held at the Penn Center church.
(burial was made at the Earlham cemetery)

Marriage licenses were issued to:
Isaac CHILBERG and Myra BOYLES
William FOSHER and Ida JOHNSON.

T. J. HUDSON has moved into the Fred TIDRICK house in the west part of town and C. A. COLE and family moved into the house formerly occupied by John MCGEE.

Married on Saturday, October 14th by Justice J. P. GUMP, William FOSHER and Ida JOHNSON.
