Married at the residence of Mr. & Mrs. John KAUFFMAN, on October 21st, were Mr. Silas LIVENGOOD and Mrs. Emma ARMSTRONG.

Died of diphtheria on October 18th, Carrie, aged 3 years, the daughter of Mr.& Mrs. Ira WALKER.

Arrears of Pensions: Mrs. Sallie HOCKETT of Madison township, is a lady 72 years of age. She is poor and for a number of years has been compelled to work for a living. She had a son who died in the Army. A week or two since, Mrs. HOCKETT received a pension certificate because of the death of her son. Owing to the Arrears Bill, she received $1,500.00 in one payment and will receive $8.00 a month as long as she lives. She has bought a home with part of the money and made herself comfortable and now in her old age may rest from her labors.

St. Charles is building a new schoolhouse.
