Granite Defeats Schuberts.
The Granite baseball team defeated the hard-hitting Schubert nine
last Sunday in a 10 inning game by a score of 13 to 10. Harry
Grotewold for Granite, carried the biggest share of the pitching
burden. On account of
the high wind, playing was difficult. Frank Lewis of Granite, and
Haegele of Schuberts, each hit home runs. In the first of the
tenth, with the score 9-9, Harry Grotewold singled, scoring one
run, and R. Grotewold tripled with
the bases loaded, to score enough runs to win the game.
Batteries, Schuberts, Lohman, Haegele, St. Clair and Childress.
Granite, H. Grotewold, Gottlob and Gottlob and H. Grotewold.
Granite and Schuberts will play again at Granite on Sunday, May
13th.
- John Zimmer of Granite was a Larchwood visitor Tuesday.
