Miss Marie Breuer and Mr. Ed Richarz were united in the holy
bonds of wedlock at St. Mary's church Tuesday morning. After a
wedding trip they will make their home with the groom's parents.
To the surprise of Alvord and vicinity, the marriage of Miss
Nettie Sehr of Alvord and Mr. John Roemen of Larchwood took place
in the Catholic church at Alvord Tuesday morning, Feb. 13.
The city hall committee recently secured a number of pairs of
roller skates and the city hall skating rink is being liberally
patronized by the young people on up to the age of 60 years.
Ed Grote, who was tried at the Rapids last week for the crime of
rape upon the person of Katie Stallinga of Doon, was found guilty
as charged by a jury. The penalty is an indeterminate sentence of
not less than 20 years in the penitentiary.
