The Larchwood Leader
Larchwood, Lyon Co., IA
July 7, 1904
Larchwood is the prettiest town in northwestern Iowa and the only
place to enjoy yourselves. Therefore bear in mind the races on
the 6th day of July.
Presiding elder Cole was in town Monday. Several parties went
with him to the Sioux River where they were given the covenant of
baptism.
Walter Brown returned Saturday from Hawarden where he has been
playing professional baseball. Since his return home, Canton has
made him an offer of $75. a month and expenses. Walter is a good
ballplayer and can hold his own with any of the teams around
here.
A tramp appeared in town last Friday and took lodging in the city
bastile. Witnesses of his strange maneuvers thought he was non
