GRANITE GOSSIP.
A New School House - Church Matters - Stock Buyers Wanted -
Personal Mention, Etc.
- Mr. Delvin, a brother of our section foreman, arrived Saturday
from Willow Lake, Dakota Territory
- Peter Goulding arrived here last week from Tarpolay, England,
and is visiting his cousin, Thos. Larkin.
- The Methodists hold quarterly meetings at A. H. Browns
next Saturday. Services at the school house in the evening.
- Our people had the pleasure of listening to an interesting and
well delivered sermon by Rev. W. N. Dunham, of Larchwood, on
Sunday last. Rev Dunham will preach to us again on Sunday April
7, at 8 p.m.
- Peterson Bros., of Sioux Falls, were here this week looking up
the stock business for this point. We hope they will be able to
secure the business, as lately this part of our trade has gone
begging for want of a buyer.
- Granite is promised a new school house to be built in
town within the next five months. This is something we need
badly, as the old school house
is much too small for the number of scholars now in the district.
The old school house will be sold to the highest bidder on March
29.
