Central City, Jan. 25 (Special) - Charles R. Mills, well known
here as a farmer, stock feeder and Linn county good roads
booster, had a narrow escape from death Sunday morning when a
bull, which he was leading to water, broke loose and gored him
about the chest. Dr. E.M. Adams, local physician, who was
summoned shortly after the enraged animal attacked Mills,
declared the victim had suffered no broken bones, although his
bruises were regarded as severe. Mills is having difficulty in

enraged Sunday, Mills ran towards a cement wall, against which

Quit Turkey Day Game
by Bill Evans
After 1926 Parsons and Iowa Wesleyan will discontinue their
practice of winding up their football schedules with their annual
clash. That is the decision handed down by the Parsons faculty
which thinks the day should be one of thanksgiving and prayer,
and not one for hilarity and sports. Such was the keynote of the
address in chapel there last week by President McDonald, who
stated that the contract had been signed and that the game would
be played. Two former Iowa athletes are athletic directors at the
two schools, Mead at Iowa Wesleyan and Glen Devine at Parsons.
Both played on the championship teams.

Police Use Field Glasses to Catch Woman With Booze
Des Moines, Jan. 26 -- Police officers, peeping through powerful
field glasses from the dome of the state capitol here, caused the
downfall of Mrs. Alma Courtney today. She was found guilty of
maintaining a liquor nuisance after the officers told the jury of
seeing her make numerous trips carrying packages frm the second
floor to the basement of her home, three blocks from the state
