DIED
At Fort Pickering Hospital, on the 26th of May last, Mr. James M.
Largent, a soldier of Company H, 22nd Iowa Infantry, aged 29
years. He was wounded at the bloody charge of Vicksburg on the
22nd day of May, 1863, from which he never finally recovered. He
died of fever. Mr. Largent formerly resided in this town, and is
said to have been a good citizen-an honest, inoffensive man. This
adds another to the long list of heroes who have died in defense
of their beloved country.
