Fred Schultz was a business visitor at Algona Saturday.
Ed Loeft of Ledyard was a visitor with friends here Saturday.
Pete Dremmels of Burt was a business visitor in town Wednesday.
Wm. Cameron was a business visitor in Algona Tuesday afternoon.
Mrs. Frank Thompson and son, Albert, returned from Algona
Wednesday.
Rob Eischenberger and Clarence Priebe were business callers in
Algona Thursday.
Mrs. Martha Reidel returned home Friday after an extended visit
with her father-in-law, Mr. Reidel.
Wm. Bierstedt, who has been taking treatment at Mudbaden for some
time, returned home Thursday.
Miss Knoer of Ledyard spent Saturday with her sister, Miss Louise
Knoer, who teaches school here.
Bert Godden has resigned as mail carrier on Route Two. As yet, no
one has been appointed to take the position.
Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Hulburt returned home Thursday after spending
a few days with relatives at Sanborn.
Otto Schultz and son, Raymond, of Fairmont, Minnesota, came
Thursday for a short visit at the Fred Schultz home.
Mrs. A. M. Swain returned home on Wednesday morning after an
extended visit with her daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Paine.
Albert Thompson moved part of his household goods to Algona
Monday. He and his wife expect to make their future home there.
Mrs. Roscoe Edwards went to Rochester Thursday to see her
husband, who is in the hospital there. She returned home
Saturday.
Mrs. Roy Godden was called to Swea City last week because of the
severe illness of her mother, Mrs. Sam Harr. She is now reported
better.
Mrs. V. W. Thompson and granddaughter, Delma, were passengers to
Des Moines Wednesday. They returned home Friday morning.
Mrs. Sidney Pettit of Sparta, Wisconsin, came Tuesday for an
extended visit with her mother-in-law, Mrs. Wm. Pettit. Mrs.
Pettits husband, Sergt. Sidney Pettit, has sailed for
America and she will remain here until his return.
The soldiers who have been mustered out from service of Lone Rock
are Corporal Henry Rath, home Tuesday; Private Ray Johnson, home
Wednesday; Private T. Madison, home Friday; Private James Murray,
home Friday; and Private Angus Cotton, home Saturday. Others are
also stationed ready to be mustered out.

H. Crouch of Burt was a business caller here Saturday.
Mrs. Wm. Krause spent last week Wednesday with relatives at
Fenton.
Walter Thompson had some dental work done at Burt last week
Wednesday.
John Householder returned to his home at Oelwein Friday after an
extended visit with relatives here.
Wm. Bierstedt was a business passenger to Algona Tuesday
afternoon, returning Wednesday morning.
Mrs. Frank Thompson was at Algona a few days last week, helping
her son Albert, who has moved there, get settled.
Corporal James Murray of Burt was calling on his old friends here
last week. James has returned home from overseas.
Who says the wind doesnt blow in Iowa? The other day it
blew the roof off a boxcar on the track beside the elevator.
Mrs. Otto Voight and children of Dolliver came Saturday to spend
a few days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Priebe.
Sergt. Wm. Franklin, recently returned from overseas, came
Tuesday to make an extended visit with his sister, Mrs. Ray
Johnson.
Corporal William Murray returned Wednesday from Camp Houston,
Tex., after having received an honorable discharge from the Army.
Mrs. Frank Thompson returned last week Wednesday from Algona,
where she was spending a few days with her mother, Mrs. Johnson,
and her son, Albert.
Wm. Fish, owner of the farm implement house here, held a sale
Saturday afternoon, and sold odd pieces of machinery which he had
on hand for some time.
Sunday services will be held at the Lone Rock church every Sunday
hereafter. Sunday school will be held from eleven to twelve oclock
and preaching from twelve till one.
Ersel Blanchard and Marie Krause spent Friday evening with their
sisters, Misses Lucille Blanchard and Frieda Krause, at Algona.
Miss Ruth Tribon, of Algona, accompanied the girls home and spent
Saturday with Miss Blanchard.
Private Robert Thompson returned Friday from overseas, after
having received an honorable discharge from the Army. Private
Howard McChesney also returned from Camp Dodge Friday, having
received an honorable discharge.
