LOCAL NEWS.
Reuben Shilts of Hobart will have a sale on the 23rd.

The Knights of Columbus will have an initiation here next Sunday.

Geo. W. Lambert is on his annual visit to his old home at Waverly.

Mrs. A. L. Webster and sister of Cresco are off to Emporia, Kansas, for a visit.

George Zeimer is visiting these days with friends in Armstrong and Fairville.

The W.C.T.U. will meet on Tuesday, Jan. 23, at 3 p.m. with Mrs. O. H. Goodrich.

A daughter was born last Sunday to Mr. and Mrs. Henry C. Nelson, north of Sexton.

Fred Minger, for many years a resident of Garfield township, died recently at his home in Eureka, Ill.

Mrs. Sample has gone to Iola, Kan., for a visit with her daughter, Mrs. W. W. Jones, and her family.

Raphael’s, “The Transfiguration,” will be the picture study at the Congregational Church next Sabbath evening.

Charley Stewart feels that to regain his health he must go south, and therefore offers his residence property for sale.

Henry Will of Lotts Creek and Thomas Saul of Irvington left Tuesday for Windsor, Mo. They are both land speculators.

Cal Heckart of Eagle Grove was in Algona this week selling nursery stock. He gardens in summer and sells trees in winter.

Jerry Helgens of Burt township scratched his hand with a horseshoe nail some days ago and blood poisoning set in, giving him an interesting time of it.

Wm. Heiter of near Lone Rock died last week after a long illness. He had not been in good health for years, and for several weeks past has been bedfast.

Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Leighton of Livermore were remarried in Fort Dodge some days ago. They had separated and were divorced, but concluded to kiss and make up again.

Word came from Mrs. E. A. Patterson, who is now at San Antonio, that she still has fevers every day, though her appetite is good. So far it does not seem that the change has helped her much.
