Night Captain Houlihan is visiting his mother in Clinton.
R.J. Riley, recently discharged from the regular army, has been
enrolled as a guard.
Harry Hortman was returned from cherokee county this morning to
await trial in September.
Burke, 4634, who was released on parole about two yeras ago, was
returned from Winnebago county this morning to serve the
unexpired portion of his sentence.
Carl Berg, formerly a dining-room boy here, was electrocuted in
the Columbus, Ohio, prison June 3, for th emurder of a tramp in a
box car about a year ago. Berg was 20 years of age. His parents
were dead, which probably accounts for the boy's early start on a
career of recklessness.
