SAINT PATRICK'S OPENS TODAY
St. Patrick's school opened Tuesday with a fine showing. Despite
the floods that descended from the open gates of heaven, the
young people came forth in large numbers. About 350 enrolled and
began work-surpassing the corresponding day of 1924. With a new
room and new equipment, the school anticipates a record-breaking
year for accomplishment, with Very Rev. Wm. P. Shannahan and the
talented Sisters of Charity eager to achieve that end.

ROBBERS LOOT IOWA VILLAGE
Ransack Business Houses at Randall and Later Stop in Jewel
Webster City, Ia., Sept 10- Robbers last night ransacked
virtually every business house in Randall, Ia., and then went
north to Jewell where they took diamonds and jewelry valued at
$1500 and robbed a variety store of $500 worth of merchandise. At
Randall they entered the Randall lumber company, the Hanson
harness shop, Benson drugstore, Oakland general store, Telgland
hardware store and the postoffice, getting nothing more than a
small sum at each place. Then they stole a car from G. P.
Christiansen for the trip to Jewell. Officers have no clews [sic]
but believe there were three men in the party.
[transcriber B.S. notes: Randall and Webster City are in Hamilton
Co. Also, the word 'clews' is exactly as printed in the
newspaper.]
NECROLOGIST REPORT FOR 1924-25
Lovingly, scores of pioneers are clasping hands today, in
brotherly and sisterly affection and the mutual good will of
oldtime, warm friends, at the Iowa City park. The annual reunion
and picnic of the Johnson County Old Settlers' association is in

without solemnity is the yearly event, for the necrologist, Miss
Ruth Osborne submitted, today, a report, sadness-laden, that
could but cause sorrow
in the hearts of the picnickers. From it they learned that, since

"All Set to Go" Goes; This Time With Cops - Des
Moines Police Take Entire Show Cast to Station
DES MOINES, Ia., Sept. 25 - (AP) - Twenty three actors and
actresses and N. S. BARGER, manager of the Garrick theater here,
proved the title of their show, "All Set to Go" was not
an exaggeration when police swept down on the theater and
arrested the entire troupe on charges of obscenity and indecent
exposure. The curtain had just fallen on the last act of the
matinee performance yesterday afternoon, when Chief of Police
James CAVENDER asked if anyone was "all set to go?" Not
a protest was heard. Then followed a parade which ended before
Municipal Judge T. L. SELLERS and the arraignments. All pleaded
not guilty and were released on $300 bond, each furnished by
BARGER.
