The Cherry sisters, or rather one of them, sued the Des Moines Leader for $15,000 damages. An unsympathetic jury found for the defendant newspaper. One trembles to think of the magnitude of the fortunes these Cherry damsels might accumulate were judges and juries to agree with them in an estimate of the money value of their talents.

Clerk Hotz has issued a license to wed to Edward Brennan and Miss Sarah Peters. Both the young people live in the Nolan settlement.
