PETER FRITZ WAS WALNUT PIONEER

     Peter Fritz died at his home two miles south of Brighton at 3:50 o'clock
Monday afternoon May 17 age 78y 8m 26d. He was born in Germany August 21,
1836 and emigrated to America with his parents in 1846. The family lived at
Burlington for a short time but later settled in Walnut township which has
been Mr. Fritz' home for over 68 years. He was twice married. Eleven
children survive: John H. and Mrs. D.F. Kilfoy of Fairfield; J.A. of
National City, Calif.; Mrs. C.A. Neiswanger of Washington; E.J. of Mason
City; Mrs. Jas. Kurtz; Mrs. Frank Pacha; Otto and Martin of this vicinity,
and Andrew and Emma at home. Burial was in East Pleasant Plain.
