Mrs. Loar has been quite sick, but is improving now.
The household goods of the late Mrs. Julia Kinart will be sold at
public sale near the State Saving Bank Saturday afternoon, at
2:30.
Mrs. T.P. Burehinal received the sad news Friday of the death of
her mother - Mrs. Nelson - at Aleghany City, Pa.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lewis entertained a houseful of guests Monday
eveing in honor of their daughter, Dovie's birthday anniversary.
Monday evening the baby of the house playfully struck Mrs.
Hancock with a hairpin, the point of the pin penetrating the drum
of the ear and causing her for a time excruciating pain. No
serious results are anticipated.
Mr. L. Thomason was called to Reasnor Sunday as undertaker in the
funeral of Harry Bean, who died Thursday, Dec. 2, aged nearly 35
years. He leaves a wife and two children. Rev. Dunlavy conducted
the funeral services. The interment took place at the Wild Cat
cemetery.

Miss R. Powell, who has been holding a case at the Record
office, for the past year or two, left for her home in Wales,
last Sunday evening. She had lived here about four years and had
made many friends.
Miss Annabel Wing graduated from the Mercy Hospital, at
Davenport, last week. She is now a professional nurse. She will
make her home in Davenport for the present.
City Supt. A.C. Gates and wife, celebrated their twentieth
wedding anniversary last Friday evening, with a royal reception
to their many friends.
Miss Mattie Tucker and Mr. D.W. French, a restaurant keeper of
Prairie City, were united in marriage at the Presbyterian
parsonage in this city, Sunday afternoon.

Fred Larson enjoyed a visit from his brother of Waukee on Sunday.
Mrs. Charlie Gamble is vising the parental home this week.
The social dance at Jacob Stineman's on Thursday evening was a
pleasurable success.
