JASPER COUNTY PENSIONS
Below will be found a list of the brave men from Jasper county,
who for heroic deeds on the battlefield, from injuries received
on the wearied march, or from diseases contracted in the prison
pens, or from honorable
service, are now receiving pensions from the Government. We
received it from Washington and it is taken from the original
documents now on file in the Pension Department, and as it will
appear in the forthcoming work to be issued by the Government. It
is not in all cases correct as we have found some of the names
wrongly spelled, and have in two of three instances corrected
them when we knew them to be wrong. Other errors may also be in
the list.
