DEAD BODY FOUND
Savanna Boys Make A Ghastly Discovery On An Island Near That City
Last Sunday
Nate Linniger and Roy Sigafus, of Savanna, made a ghastly
discovery Sunday. The boys had gone rabbit hunting on Pulford’s
Island, which is near Savanna. In their rambles along the Iowa
side they came across a box which protruded from the earth. Upon
investigation they found that the box contained the skeleton of a
human being. Part of the clothing was still on the bones. From
appearances the body must have been wrapped in an old carpet,
which was still in fair shape. The boys left the body where they
found it and reported it to the police.
This is the second skeleton found in that locality within a short
time. From the condition in which the body was buried it would
seem that there is a mystery connected with it, but this
undoubtedly will never be solved.
