Body Found
The body of Mr. Goddard, friend of Mr. Jason Pangborn, was found
a mile or so east of town. It appears that he had stepped off a
precipice some thirty feet high, and was instantly killed. When
found, his body gave evidence of having lain some two days. Mr.
Goddard was quite aged, and nearly blind. When missing, search
was immediately made, and a number of our citizens aided, but
with no success, until the third day, when he was found as above
stated, at the foot of the precipice, dead.
