MAQUOKETA SENTINEL - We have before us a copy of the first number
of the Maquoketa Sentinel, a new paper just started in
the village of Maquoketa. Nothing more impressively reminds us of
the growth and prosperity of Iowa than the increase of
newspapers; for without a population sufficiently large, liberal
and enlightened, so many papers as are now published in this
state would not be sustained. The Sentinel is published
in the midst of just such a population as sustain newspapers. We
may, therefore, safely bespeak for it a liberal patronage. The
price of the paper is $1.50 a year in advance. Advertisements are
published at liberal rates. Swigart & Brother, publishers and
editors.
