Hans Knudsen of Crawford county was in Ida Grove Wednesday of
last week for a visit with his parents. Mr. Knudsen brought in a
large female wolf and seven cubs which he killed in Grant
township on his father's farm. He received $19 in bounty.
Harold B. Farnsworth, son of Dr. Farnsworth of Galva, was
recently appointed as assistant in the laboratory of biology in
the University of Iowa. He will have charge of the drug and
chemical department and assist in biological and anatomical
demonstrations.
A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. A.G. Miller at Albia last week.
Mrs. Miller was formerly Mary Jones of this city.
During a storm the barn on the Henry Macentum place near
Schleswig was struck by lightning and burned to the ground. All
of the horses were taken out safely.
E.W. Cubbage went to Gordan, Nebr., the latter part of last week
where he purchased 300 head of stock cattle.
