LOCAL MENTION.
Miss Edith Darg visited over Sunday at home.
Mr. Larson near Badger purchased a Jackson automobile.
Mrs. Ruse and Margaret were callers in Bradgate, Sunday.
There will be work at Masonic Hall on the next regular meeting,
May 28. ~Secretary.
It is at 8:45 that Julius Johnson leaves Humboldt, and at 11:45
that he returns.
Mrs. Hanson of Linn Grove is visiting her sister, Mrs. Thomas
Sawyer of Dakota City.
Born: To Mr. and Mrs. Earn Terwilliger, a baby girl. Mother and
child are doing nicely.
Dave Mericle is riding about in a handsome auto that gets him
over the ground at a great rate.
Born: To Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Ehmke, of Pioneer, a baby. Humboldt
friends extend congratulations.
Mayor Johnson has decided to enforce the ordinance against dogs,
and has an item in this issue to that effect. It is a good thing.
There are entirely too many worthless curs on the streets.
G. Jaqua returned to Tama county for a short stay, after which he
will depart for Missouri and Kansas where he will spend some time
with his sons. He may be gone the entire summer.
W. E. Pavey of Rutland and Mr. Reis of Gilmore are the latest to
drive out of Humboldt with new autos. The former gentleman took
an Overland and the latter a Ford. Both got good cars.
George Millward received a broken arm the other day while
cranking his automobile. He had turned on the juice and advanced
the spark a little too much, when it kicked back and a broken
wrist was the result.
Tom Morris has sold his livery barn and business in Renwick and
had moved his household goods to Humboldt where they will be
stored until he finds another location. He has not decided where
he will engage in in the future.
