Mr. and Mrs. J .W. Miller attended a farewell basket dinner at the Jake Miller home near Wayland Sunday. Jake Miler and family will soon move to Minnesota

John Huston Jr. left Tuesday for Dubuque where he will attend a lumberman’s convention. 

Rev. Mrs. Lucas was in Mt. Pleasant on business Saturday morning. 

Grove DeYarman has purchased the property on Main Street recently vacated by Shannon Lantz and family. Mr. DeYarman is having the house remodeled and redecorated and expects to move from the apartment building into this home by March first. 

Thursday evening the church parlors will be the scene of a miscellaneous farewell part for C. R. Hallowell, wife, and two daughters. Mr. Hallowell and family will move this week to a farm near Winfield. 

A very pretty social even took place in the John Huston Sr. home last Saturday afternoon when Mr. Bailey, Mrs. C. R. Miller, and Mrs. Huston entertained several ladies from Winfield at a Valentine party. There were thirty-five guests present. The decorations and favors and menu served were all suggestive of St. Valentine’s day. Progressive rook was the main feature of the afternoon’s entertainment. A two course luncheon was served at small tables at five o’clock. 

Mr. Donald Anderson who spent two weeks here visiting his mother Mrs Lucas, returned home to Mason City Saturday afternoon. 

Mr. and Mrs. Wilmek were shopping in Mt. Pleasant Sunday. 

Mr. and Mrs. Ray Manning and daughter, Opal, Henry Manning, and Mr. and Mrs. Jessee Crowl and son, Clarence, spent Saturday evening at the J. H. Vansant home. 

Miss Vivian Zear is helping with the household duties at Will Eichers’ this week. 

B. H. Neff and family spent Sunday at Jake Christner’s. 

Mrs. Esther Calhoun of Nebraska is visiting relatives here. 

B. H. Neff and family spent Thursday evening at Joe Boese’s. 

Mrs. William Cochran of Coppock spent Saturday night with her daughter, Mrs. Lester Neff, and family. 

Mr. and Mrs. Beatty spent Sunday at the parental Ross home

Mr. and Mrs. Lester Nicola are visiting at the parental Nicola home. 

Mrs. Albert Monson spent Thursday afternoon at the Dan Roth home. 

Miss Gladys Graber visited Thursday afternoon with Mrs. Caroline Bigler. 

Several from this community attended the sale of Alvin Smith’s last Friday. 

Mrs. Frank Monson spent Friday afternoon at the Glenn Klopfenstein home. 

Mr. and Mrs. Ross Raines and family spent Tuesday night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Graber. 

Lester Scarff was a Mt. Pleasant caller Saturday. 

Clyde Buck came home Thursday morning on a ten day furlough to visit his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Buck.
