MRS. W.H. BARTON DEAD
Passed Away This Morning After Months of Suffering-
Leaves Husband and One Daughter.
Mrs. W.H. Barton passed away at her
home, eleven miles southwest of Mt. Pleasant at eleven o'clock this morning.
Death was due to a long suffering with an incurable condition
and Mrs. Barton underwent two operations in the Henry County Hospital about one
year ago in hopes of relief.
To mourn her death she leaves her husband and one daughter,
Ruth, age 12, and a number of brothers and sisters. No arrangements for the
funeral have been made at this time.

Miss Lathea A. Haskell, Sister of Mrs. Schramm of Burlington Dies
Burlington, March 3rd- The funeral of
Lethea Adams Haskell, who died at Mt. Pleasant Thursday, will be held this
afternoon from the Unterkircher funeral home with burial in Aspen Grove
cemetery. Dr. Naboth Osborne will conduct the services. For some years she had
lived in Burlington with her sister, Mrs. Ella H. Schramm. She also leaves four
brothers, Daniel, Charles, Frank and Walter Haskell, of Burlington.
Miss Haskell was born in Burlington, Dec. 1, 1857, the
daughter of Daniel and Margaret Farmer Haskell. Educated in public and private
schools here, she became a successful teacher and after attending the Iowa
Wesleyan college and the University of California she became engaged in
university extension work and continued this vocation until her health failed.
WM. SCHULTZ DIES
Well Known Jefferson County Man Found Dead in Bed
Rome, Ia., Mar. 2 - The many relatives and friends of William
Schultz, living near Fairfield, were surprised to hear of his death which
occurred sometime Wednesday night.
He had visited at Rome the first of the week at the home of
his niece, Mrs. Chancy Fields. He was moving from west of Fairfield to a farm he
had rented south of that place, when he stopped to spend the night at the home
of his son, Alva Shultz.
The next morning they discovered he had died during the
night.
The remains were shipped to Rome Friday and taken to White
Oak chapel where services were held, interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Des Moines , Ia., Mar. 9 - Llewelyn Throst, convicted slayer of Igna Manussen, Allamakee county school teacher, will hang at 7:30 a.m. Friday, March 9, at the Ft. Madison penitentiary, warrant to this effect having been issued yesterday by Gov. Kendall.
Sioux City, Ia., Mar. 7 - Dr. Agnes Eichelberger, founder of the Florence Crittendon Home here, widely known charity worker and one of the most prominent women physicians of the central west, died yesterday in Los Angeles, according to word received here today.
Hampton, Ia., Mar. 3- C.J. Levalty and C.C. Storek, cashier and assistant cashier, respectively of the recently defunct Farmers' & Merchants' bank at Sheffield, will be given preliminary hearings here on March 6 on charges of fraudulent banking filed against them by Roy and Ole Koentingaberg farmers.
Des Moines, Ia., Mar. 3 - J.S. Reeder, 38, a farmer of near Creston, ended his life by hanging in a room in a local hotel here yesterday. Papers found in his pockets indicated that he had been having financial difficulties.
