25 Years ago This Week:
Woods
Brothers of Denova started work of delivering 10,000 ties and several thousand
fence post to the railroad.

new members were taken into the Congregational church during revival meetings.
Hogs
had risen to $4.40.
Twenty Years
Ago This Week:
An
old fashioned blizzard covered the ground with four inches of snow and made big
drifts. This was the first real snowfall of the winter.
Rural
routes were soon to start from Hillsboro and Stockport.
Ten Years Ago
This Week:
A booster club was organized the meeting being called to
order by Mayor Banta. The main subject discussed was the installation of
electric lights, Oakland being the source considered. The question of better
train service was also taken up.
I.
O. Powers, bought the N. M. Hockett Store.
Fred Shelledy sold his store, the stock being divided between Lamm and
Powers.
The
supposedly big catfish found at Oakland was discovered to be merely an old log.
