·                    Mr. and Mrs. Ed Farris of Morning Sun were over Sunday guests of Dr. and Mrs. G. M. Jones.

·                    D. H. Barr will go to Des Moines Monday as a delegate to the good roads convention to be held Tuesday and Wednesday.

·                    Joe Wenger returned to his school work at Howe’s academy at Mt. Pleasant this week, after having been detained at home for a couple of weeks by sickness.

·                    Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Neff have issued invitations to the marriage of their daughter, Lydia Leone, to Mr. James Leslie Reed on Wednesday afternoon, March 9 at 6 o’clock.

·                    I have eight farms near Salem, Iowa for sale. Must be sold soon. All level and rolling rich land. Will sell one farm or all. It is a bargain. Call on or address: Frank Rook, Salem, Iowa.

·                    Mrs. Emmea Meyers went to Wayland last Friday to attend the funeral of her friend, Mrs. Sarah Humles, which was held Saturday. She returned home Monday evening --- Oakville Sentinel.

·                    Miss Adeline Wenger of Washington was visiting over Sunday with some folks and was accompanied by Misses Ella Kiesey, Fae Ross, Lucille Waters, Mr. Willie Kiesy and her cousin, Miss Tillie Frechin.

·                    Fred Kolpfenstein came home from Holyoke Colorado last week.

·                    Mrs. Cora Nelson is reported no better at this writing.

·                    Mr. Henry Spielman was a business caller at Brighton Tuesday.

·                    Several from here attended the party at Robert Shaffer’s Saturday night.

·                    Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Kientz and family were visiting at Henry Spielman’s Sunday.

·                    Mr. and Mrs. Peter Hinkle moved last Friday to their place a mile and a half south of Salina.

·                    Mrs. Henry Mannhardt and Miss Lulu Schmadaka attended the funeral of Will Humphrey at Pleasant Plain last Thursday.
