CHRIST FOR ALL--ALL FOR CHRIST
The Word of God
... the word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my
path--Psalms 129:103
Bible Thought and Prayer
If parents will have their children memorize a Bible selection
each week, it will prove a priceless heritage to them in after
13: Christ for all--All For Christ. St. Matthew 10:16-17-20 21.
And, behold, one came and said unto him. Good Master, what good
thing shall I do, that I may have eternal like? 17 There is none
good but one,
that is God: but if thou wilt enter into life keep the
commandments. 20 the young man saith unto him. All these things
have I kept my youth up; what lack I yet? 21 Jesus said unto him,
If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast and give to
the poor, and thou shall have treasure in heaven: and come follow
me

Persia May Organize Band
A band is one of the greatest organizations that any community
can possess so why not Persia? There is a strong sentiment here
for a band, and plans are already underway to organize a band
here in the near future.
Just what does a band and mean to a community? Everything! We
would say. Where can you get more enjoyment than listening to an
evening band concert, after a hard day of toil? No where! We
think that the people of this community would enjoy a band here.
The situation is this: A meeting will be held in the city hall,
Friday eve, April 26th, at 8 o'clock, to farther plans for this
band. It is ask that any one that has ever played
in a band here or elsewhere and any one that would like to learn
to play in a band and to please be present. Mr. Witt, of Neola,
an able band man, will be present to lend whatever support to
this band that he can, that evening. Come! If you think that you
would like to be a member of this proposed band, and make your
desire known to do so. Committee.

Another New Law
A bill introduced into and passed by the Iowa legislature that
makes obtaining injunctions against owners and operators of
gambling resorts much easier. The act made it possible to enjoin
gamblers and owners of building where gambling houses are
conducted. It makes possible and padlocking of such a building
for year and the levying a $300 tax against the building.

A Narrow Escape
Fred Chambers, janitor at the high school here, has a narrow
escape from injury or possibly death, Monday. He went out to ring
the bell, which is part of his duties at the school house, he
took hold of the bell rope and gave a pull, that pull came very
near being the last thing he did on this earth, for when he
pulled the rope the bolt that holds the bell gave away and down
came the bell without any warning. The first thing that Fred knew
that anything was wrong was when the bell crashed at his feet,
missing him by a few inches. Had it hit him, something serious to
him would have happened then and there. Was he frightened? Put
yourself in the same position, would you have been frightened?
Well so was he, could you blame him if he was?
Plenty of Rain.
April showers bring May flowers Isn't that nice? That part be all
right but how are framers doing to get their plowing done when it
rains so much. It rained most all night Friday and most all day
Saturday and then Monday night and Tuesday morning. In looking
over the surrounding country one sees but very little plowing
done for corn, although the small grain is all in and most of the
seeding of clover etc. Corn planting should start in about two
weeks and very few will be ready if it keeps on raining But
tractors and gang plowed _he p_ a lot these days.

'Round Home by Chas. S. Kinnison
My Sunday Nap (?)
On a Sunday, after dinner,
I delight to shed my shoes
As a lazy, loafin' sinner--
To enjoy a little SNOOZE!
With my noodle all a-fuddle,
(and so full of grub, I sigh!)
In the big arm chair I cuddle
And tell all the folks "Good-by."
Pretty soon I start to slippin'
I am nearly gone--and then
Both the youngsters start to yippin'
And I'm WIDE AWAKE again!
"Hey, you kids--cut out the riot!"
I exclaim in tomes of ire.
"Let us have a little quiet
Or I'll fill yours seats with fire!"
They can see that I am nettled--
They're afraid I'll use the lath,
So I shortly get 'em settled,
And I soon forget my wrath
As the arms of Slumber tease me
To repose upon her lap--
But when Sleep's about to seize me,
Then the Collie starts to yap!
But as last I'm snoozing sweetly,
In a loud rip-snorting snore--
When, alas, I'm roused completely
By a knock upon the door!
And I straighten up, a cussin'
As I madly grab my shoes,
There is SOMETHING always mussin',
Sure as Fate, my Sunday snooze!
