Postmaster Moore took up the matter of dispatching mails from the local post office with the chief of this division and has secured the reinstatement of former schedule so that we again have outgoing mail in the evening.

The Fremont Canal and Power Co. have been granted the right to construct a power canal to take water from the Plate river between Schuyler and Fremont. The project will cost over $5,000 when completed, and will furnish power and light to Omaha and all surrounding towns.

Irvin Pounds has resigned his position with the Dunlap State bank and next week will go to Dothan, Alabama, where he will be employed in a mercantile establishment. Irvin is a trustworthy and capable young man and will make good wherever he goes.
