GALLAND’S GROVE

The Ladies Aid met with Mrs William Fouts Wednesday of last week and with Mrs. Sarah Adamson of Dunlap this week.

Miss Sophia Roundy and her nephew Glen Argotsinger are expected home Saturday from Missouri where they have been visiting relatives the past two week.

Hugh Carmichael moved to Dunlap last Friday.

D.A. Holcolmb and wife, H.N. Baughman and family drove to Dow City one day last week to visit relatives returning home that evening.

Jack Jenkins of Dunlap attended the Lyceum at No. 4, School last Friday night.

Fred Baber made a trip to Dow City Wednesday.

OBITUARY

Willard Cooper, an old citizen of this community, passed quietly and peacefully away at his home here on Wednesday forenoon at the age of 70 years, 20 months and 22 days. The funeral was held this morning at 10 o’clock from the Congregational Church, Rev. W.H. Doyle officiating. The remains were laid to rest at Center School Cemetery in Willow Township.Mr. Cooper was born in New York state, but came to this community in the early days. He was preceded to the great beyond by his wife a number of years. The deceased leaves two sons, one of which has lived here and the other, Elmer, at North Platte, Nebraska.

SOME CATCH

Fred Southworth of Moorhead Saturday took to Sioux City the furs of thirty-five skunks, which he captured near Moorhead in a period of five minutes Friday. Southworth used a dog in making the catch. All were found in one hole. Members of the company that bought the furs stated they were among the best ever brought into Sioux City.

Dunlap Council No. 1677 K. and L. of S meets on the first and third Tuesday evenings of each month in their hall in the Commercial Block.

Dunlap Homestead No. 373 Brotherhood of American Yeomen, meets the first and third Wednesday of each month in the K. and L. of S. Hall in the Commercial block.

Omaha Tribe No. 135 I.O.R.M. meets in Pythian hall every Monday evening.

Hospitable Lodge No. 244, A.F. and A.M. meets at Masonic Temple on Tuesday evenings on or before the Full Moon.
