MATRIMONIAL
HOFFMAN-CALNAN
Last Tuesday morning at 8:30, St. Patrick’s Church was the scene of a religious ceremony in which Mr. William HOFFMAN and Miss Kathryn CALNAN became husband and wife. A gathering of relatives and friends which almost filled the church was on hand to honor the occasion by their presence. The marriage rite took place at a nuptial high mass in which Mamie KAVANAGH presided at the organ and was assisted by St. Patrick’s Church choir. The bride was beautifully gowned in spotless white and carried a bouquet of brides roses. The maid of honor, Miss Marie HOFFMAN, was also tastefully clad in white. The groom and “best man,” Mr. Peter FROMM of Kirkman, Iowa were robed in neatly fitting suits of the conventional black. From the church the bridal party and a large number of invited guests repaired to the home of the grooms parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas HOFFMAN, where a sumptuous wedding dinner was served. The bride is one of Dunlap’s brightest, best and fairest young ladies, and has always been held in highest esteem by all who knew her. As an angel of light, she will adorn the home of the young man who is proud to have won her heart. The groom is a young man of kindly nature and excellent habits. He has been always noted for his industry, temperance and thrift, and is worthy in every respect of the prize which he has won.Among the many presents which the newly married couple received one of the most highly prized was a $20 gold coin given by members of the Knights of Columbus who were in attendance. The young couple will for the present reside in Dunlap, accompanied by the well wishes of their many friends.
