LOCAL NEWS

M.J. EMMERT, of Haugan, Montana, arrived here Tuesday for a weeks visit with his old Dunlap friends.

J.R. WHEELER, and family, of Denver, are visiting at the home of the gentleman's mother, Mrs. J.R. WHEELER.

Dr. P.G. INGERSOLL left for Lake City Wednesday morning, being called there on account of the critical illness of his mother.

Mrs. Albertine PICKERING, of Atlantic, was in town Wednesday in the interest of the American Home Finding Association.

Mrs. L.V. CORFMAN returned home from Greene, Tuesday, where she visited with her brother. She was accompanied with her twosisters.

John TUNGBERG returned from Omaha Thursday, where he purchased a home to which he will move about March first.

Dave EDWARDS had several ribs broken, and was otherwise injured, in a runaway accident last Sunday morning. He is now at the home of E.J. HULL in critical condition.

RESOLUTION OF RESPECT

Whereas, death has entered and removed from our midst our worth brother Wm. T. FOUTS, now, therefore be it resolved, that we as a lodge, extend to the bereaved family, in this dark hour of sorrow and sadness, our deepest sympathy, and be it further resolved, that in the loss of Brother Wm. T. FOUTS this lodge loses a faithful member, the community a good citizen and his family a loving husband and fond father, be it further.

Resolved, that the charter of Golden Rule Lodge, 178, be draped in mourning for 30 days and a copy of these resolutions be furnished the family, and a copy of the Dunlap Reporter for publication, and these resolutions be made a part of the records of Golden Rule Lodge I.O.O.F.

J.B. JOHNSON was an Omaha visitor Monday.

L.K. MOORE returned from Denver, Colorado the past week.

M.L. BARRETT was in Fremont, Nebraska the past week on legal business.

Nell BEATTY is home from her school to spend the Holidays with her parents.

Al. BURLING, of Missouri Valley, spent Sunday with his parents in this city.

Mrs. J.T. RAWLINGS, and Mrs. Thos. E. CAVERLY took in the sights at Omaha Monday.

Mrs. Thos. LEHAN returned home from Omaha Monday after a short visit to the city.

G.B. FOUTS has leased the building occupied by the Fairmont Creamery Co. and will remove his barber shop to that building soon after the first of the year. We understand the Fairmont people will abandon their station at this place.

Mr. W.A. DAVIE spent Christmas with friends at Logan.

Mr. and Mrs. A.N. JORDAN spent Christmas with relatives at Denison.

Roy ROBSON, and family, spent Christmas with the parents of Mrs. Robson, at Ames.

A.E. SMITH, and family, spent Christmas at Manilla with the parents of Mrs. SMITH.

Joe DUGAN, and family, of Panora, spent Christmas with Mr. DUGAN's parents in this city.

Pat GRADY and Karl BENEDICKT each had four cars of cattle on the Chicago market Wednesday.

Melvin JENNINGS, of Omaha, was a Christmas visitor at the home of his sister, Mrs. Howard BROWN.

Mrs. Pat McAULIFFE left Friday for Denver to spend Christmas with her son Daniel. She expected to remain a couple of months.

Mr. and Mrs. L.K. MOORE entertained the whist club at their home Tuesday evening. After the usual round of games refreshments were served.

G.W. GREGG was in Defiance Sunday.

Frank GUYETT spent Christmas at Woodbine.

Chris SCHROEDER spent Christmas with friends at Avoca.

Jennie DUNHAM is spending her vacation from school studies at home.

G.A. LANDEE, and family, spent Christmas at Boone with relatives.

The Misses Jennie and Francis BURKE spent Christmas with their sister at Omaha.

Mart NORRIS came over from Blair, Nebraska to spend Christmas with his parents.

Mr. and Mrs. L.M. LEWIS rejoice in the advent of a daughter born on Christmas day.

Ray FOX left Tuesday evening for Stanwood, Iowa, to act as chef for the pile driver outfit.

James HULL returned home Saturday after an extended visit at his ranch near Gordon, Nebraska.

Mrs. L.D. HOWORTH, and children, of Central City, Nebraska, arrived in town Sunday to visit with relatives.

Mrs. P.G. INGERSOLL returned home from Toledo Saturday after a visit at the home of Mr. INGERSOLL's parents.

T.L. CRAFT leaves for San Antonio, Texas Friday, where he expects to sojourn for some time in the interest of his health.

Alvin CARBAUGH, who is employed at the Ed. O'BANION farm, cut his foot quite badly while at work the fore part of the week.
