Local Women To Convention
Fourteen local women, all members of the Daughters of Union
Veterans, drove to Marshalltown yesterday to attend the district
convention. State Commander Quade, of Dubuque was present and
spoke and Mrs. Alexander Groves, of this city, responded to the
address of welcome. It was decided that next years
convention would be at Newton.
Those from here who attended were: Mrs. Alexander Groves, Mrs. N.
J. Whaley, Mrs. H. O. Cutler, Mrs. James Adams, Mrs. David
Gregory, Mrs. W. B. Merritt, Mrs. Edith Townsend, Mrs. John
Clabaugh, Mrs. Fred Miller, Miss Myrtle Martin, Mrs. Byrda
Fisher, Mrs. Hattie Humbert, Mrs. Mattie Wayman and Mrs. Robert
Downs.
Graham Family Enjoys Reunion
Thirty-nine relatives enjoyed a reunion Sunday at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Henry Graham, south of town. After a bountiful basket
dinner had been served, the remainder of the time was spent
socially.
Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Graham, Mr. and Mrs.
Robert Graham, LaVonne and Shirley, of Algona; Mr. and Mrs. Fred
Stowe, Mr. and Mrs. James Sewick, Mr. and Mrs. Jay Graham and
Helen Marie, of Burt; Mr. and Mrs. A.B. Graham, Mrs. Hattie
Graham, Keith and Alma, Mrs. Alva Barr, Wayne, Russell, Donald
and Gordon, Mr. and Mrs. S.R. Graham, Ralph, Howard, Leslie, Gale
and Wilma, Miss Lillie Graham, Miss Hattie Graham, Mr. and Mrs.
Earl Humble, Mr. and Mrs. W.V. Graham and Barbara Jean and Mr.
and Mrs. H.C. Graham, all of this city.
