Will Move to this City
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Park, who have been residing in Cedar Rapids since their marriage, will move to this city at once where Mr. Park has accepted a position in the Boston Shoe & Clothing store. They will make their home temporarily with Mrs. P's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.N. Omstead.

Child Has Infantile Paralysis
The first case of infantile paralysis in this vicinity was brought to light Sunday, when the seven year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S.H. Wilson, who live northeast of this city, was found to be the victim of the disease. The child had been ill a week before the nature of her ailment was ascertained. Her lower libs are paralyzed but otherwise her condition is as good as can be expected. The Sunnyside school, which the child attended has been closed for the present.

Petitions in Court
-John Hall, a clothing corporation in Chicago, asks judgment against W.L.R. Perry for $275, claimed on account.
-John Peterson is suing Dan Marcus for $54.80, claimed for merchandise.
-W.K. Jackson seeks judgment for $47.45 against Wm. and Percy Turpin.
-R.W. DeLa sues E.B. Benson for $83.30, claimed to be due on a note.
-Edson, Keith & Co., of Chicago ask judgment against Mrs. Grace K. Barnes in the sum of $829.54, claimed to be due for goods sold.
-C. Williams asks judgment for $94.10 against O.F. Angstrom, claimed on a note.

Off to College
Many young people left this week for college, the following having gone to Cedar Falls where they will enter the State Teachers College: Misses Matred and Ruby Whitham, Mabel Huddleston, Ruth Mang, Ida Reed, Louise Heinday, Lila Neel, Mary Bailey, Clarine Mueller, Mary Hathway, Eunice Lee, Bessie Thompson, Mary Waterman of Kamrar, and Buelah Cheever of Jewell.

Attending the Iowa State College at Ames this year are: Misses Claire Richardson, Cara Ruppel, Myrtle Arnold and Will Yungelas.

Miss Celia Lachmiller has gone to Ellsworth College, Iowa Falls, where she will specialize in music. Miss Pearl Blue of Kamrar is also attending Ellsworth college this year.

The following from here will attend the State University at Iowa City this year: Misses Elsie Heiden and Louise Swanson and John Dodge, Howard McKee, Glen Greenwood, Verne Buxton and Glean Smith of Woolstock.

Cliff Furman has entered Ames for an agricultural course.

Buys All Of Charcoal Output
A.C. Hoot of the Webster City Mills has bought the whole of the charcoal output of the Shawyer kilns south of this city. The outpur of these kilns will now be sold exclusively from the mills in Webster City.

Buys Big Farm
John Cartney of Blairsburg bought the big 240 acre Casper Edvenson farm in Rose Gove township at public auction Friday at $162.50 per acre, or a total of $39,000. The sale was cried by Col C.W. Marvel of this city and Col. Gilbert Knudson of Jewell. The price paid is considered very fair. The Cartney Bros. are now among the largest land owners in Hamilton county.

Captain Landers Home
Captain F.E. Landers returned home this week from a two weeks' visit in the east. At Binghamville, N.Y. he attended a reunion of the 16th New York Battery, with which he served in the civil war. There were 300 men in this battery when it marched away and just seven - all the survivors - attended the reunion. It was Captain Landers first visit at a reunion of the battery.

Captain Landers also visited the old homestead in New York and other scenes of his childhood and the places where he spent his younger days. Among the most interesting places he visited was the home of his great grandfather at Lenox, Mass., which has been in the family for 150 years.

Painful Injury
While preparing to retire Saturday night, Miss Mable Huddlestun stepped on a needle, running it into her foot between two toes, breaking it short off in the foot. The needle was not extracted that night and the next morning it was found necessary to take an X-ray picture of the foot and a deep incision had to be made before the bit of steel could be found.

Largest Alimony in Iowa
What is believed to be the largest alimony reward ever granted in Iowa was given Mrs. Bridget Callahan in Mason City the other day. Mrs. Callahan was granted a divorce fro mher husband Patrick Callahan, a wealthy land owner and was given $60,000; $34,000 of which was in the form of notes maturing three years hence and the remainder in a quarter section of Cerro Gordo county land.
