STEWART PENNINGTON
[Text under his photograph]
Pictured here is Stewart Pennington, who has been reported as
missing in action by government officials at Washington D.C.
Pennington was stationed on the Philippine Islands with the
United States army. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Pennington,
had received no word from him since last July, until Tuesday when
they received a wire from Washington.
He enlisted about 18 months ago from Bayard and had been at Fort
McKinley most of the time since. He was 25 years old. His parents
lived in Bayard until recently when they moved to Burlington.
Pennington is the third Guthrie county man to be reported missing
since the war started December 7, 1941, but he is the first from
the north half of the county.
