Emma Gilbert Doyel
Emma Josephine Gilbert was born on the old Gilbert farm two and
one half miles northeast of Panora IA on April 6, 1858 and died
at the home of her son, Loftis L. Doyel in Sacramento CA July 19,
1927. She lived on the old homestead until her marriage to Isaac
Newton Doyel on December 23, 1883. After her marriage she resided
in and around Linden IA until the death of her husband on March
4, 1917, since with she has made her home in Montana and
California with her children. Mrs. Doyel was preceeded to the
great beyond by her husband and two daughters, Lovie and Nora.
She is survived by four children: Loftis L. Doyel of Sacramento
CA, Katherine Doyel of San Francisco CA, Harriett Gander Doyel of
Gage Montana, and Hazel Doyel of Glenwood IA; five grandchildren;
three brothers: Hugh Gilbert of Panora, Harry Gilbert of Nampa
Idaho, and R.O. Gilbert of Tacoma Washington. The body
accompanied by her son arrived in Linden Saturday noon. Funeral
services were conducted in the M.E. Church Saturday July 22 at 2
p.m. and interment was made in the family lot in the west
cemetery.
