Death of Ed Campbell
Friday morning last, W.G. Roberts received a telegram announcing
the death of his brother-in-law Ed Campbell of Ferndale
Washington. Mr. Campbell had been in poor health for some time
and was in a hospital at the time of his death, so the news was
not all together a shock to Mr. Roberts. Mr. Campbell was a
pioneer school teacher in the early '70's in this vicinity and
was married to Miss Mary Roberts, oldest sister of W.G. Roberts.
In the early days he came here with his parents and they settled
upon what is now know as the Baldwin farm. After his marriage he
moved on a farm 10 miles southwest of Des Moines, later a
railroad was built thru his place and a station built which was
called "Campbell". About twenty years ago he left Iowa
and settles in the west where he has lived ever since. He leaves
a wife, two daughters, and three sons, besides numerous other
relatives and friends to mourn his departure. The deceased is a
brother of George Campbell who resides east of Panora.
