John Hafner of Victory township,who has been in poor health for a
long time, died on Tuesday of last week, was buried in the
cemetery here on Thursday, the funeral services being held in the
M.E. church conducted by Rev. Harned. Mr. Hafner was an honest,
hard working German, who while he probably had some qualities
that all may not have admired, was highly respected by all
acquainted with him for the many admirable qualities that went to
make up his character. He was born in Bucks Co., Penn., Oct 10,
1825. In August, 1860 he was married to Sarah P. Ferry, with whom
he some years ago moved to this county and settled on a farm in
Victory township where he has since resided. He leaves a wife and
eleven children, eight boys and three girls.
