Death of Wm. Belangee
After an illness of a few days William Belangee died Friday night
in Bristol township. The body lay in state at the Huffman funeral
home until Sunday afternoon, when the funeral was held at 2
o'clock with the Rev. Martin Keast, of Grand Junction, preaching
the sermon, and Mrs. Florence Davis Bauman, of Des Moines,
singing a solo. The burial was made on the family lot in Grand
Junction cemetery, where his parents, brothers and sisters are
sleeping. Mr. Belangee was born in Indiana in 1854. He came with
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Belangee, fifty years ago and
settled in Boone county. A few years later they moved to the
Grand Junction vicinity. He was one of a family of ten children,
all having gone on to the other world but one brother, Perry
Belangee, who resides in Long Beach, California. Mr. Belangee is
survived by one daughter, Myrtle, who lives in Los Angeles. His
good wife and his son, Wallace, preceded him in death many years
ago. The only relatives present at the funeral were a nephew and
his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Whitman of Des Moines.
