Aged Lady Dead.
Grandma Harrison, as she was known to all, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. B. Crow, Wednesday afternoon, April 25, 1906, aged 85 years, 5 months and 27 days. The funeral services were held from the A. B. Crow house this afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. H. O. Bethel. Rebecca Keys was born in Delaware, October 28, 1820. She came to Ohio with her parents and settled in Franklin county. Here it was that she married, November 18, 1838, to William Harrison. Nine children were born to this union, six of whom survive their mother, the father having gone on before several years ago. The daughters are Mrs. L. Coon and Mrs. A. B. Crow. The sons are: George W. who lives in Arkansas; James H. of Nebraska; John of Pomeroy and Will of Collins, Iowa. Will was the only one of the sons who were able to be in attendance at the funeral, he and his wife having arrived Thursday afternoon. In 1850 Mr. and Mrs. Harrison came to Iowa and located in Jones county. They lived there until 1869 when they moved to Greene county. In 1886 they moved to Grand Junction and it was here Mr. Harrison died. Since that time Mrs. Harrison has made her home with her children. She has known many hardships of frontier life, having came to the state when it was very sparsely settled. She has been a church member since her youth. Such is the record of a good life, and it is a rich heritage for her children. We can assure those who are left to mourn their loss that they have the sympathy of a large circle of friends.
